Flourish

Flourish is the West Birmingham Community Health Collaborative – an open group of third sector organisations working in partnership with the NHS and other care providers to reduce health inequalities across Perry Barr and Ladywood, or ‘West Birmingham’.

Our Members​

Our members include NHS staff and other care professionals, educational institutions and networks, and charities and voluntary organisations / micro-organisations working at a local or hyper-local level. Anyone working in West Birmingham to improve health and wellbeing can join Flourish.

Partners

Flourish began its journey as a part of Legacy WM and, in November 2024, became an independent Community Interest Company: Flourish Community Health Collaborative CIC. Flourish remains a constituent part of the West Birmingham Locality Delivery Partnership, where it works with a variety of health, social care, education and third sector partners serving the people of West Birmingham.

WINNER! Flourish and the Ladywood & Perry Barr Locality Partnership walk away the ‘NHS Race Equality Award’ at the HSJ Awards.
 

blankWe were surprised and delighted to take home the NHS Race Equality Award on Thursday night, at the HSJ Awards in London. A delegation of 12 people, representing the Birmingham and Solihull (BSol) ICS, the Locality Partnership, Birmingham’s Public Health team, Flourish, the NHS, community organisations and Birmingham City University attended to accept the prestigious award.
We gratefully acknowledge the encouragement and support of the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board and colleagues, as well as the tireless commitment of our many community partners to creating a more equitable health and social care system. Congratulations, West Birmingham!

The West Birmingham Locality Partnership Fund

The West Birmingham Locality Partnership Fund, one of four strands of the Birmingham Fairer Futures Fund is now open. Expressions of Interest [Download Form] are requested by 9am, 10 June 2024. 

The Locality Partnership Fund is a large-scale scheme specifically intended to support interventions within each of Birmingham’s localities that:

  • Involve partnership working between organisations and sectors to provide integrated, effective and efficient care
  • Introduce targeted interventions to reduce health and/or care inequalities experienced by one or more defined communities
  • Increase co-production with local people to better understand their challenges and priorities and how to tackle these effectively

Fund Overview

  • You may apply for 1, 2 or 3 years of funding
  • You may apply for £50,000 – £300,000.
  • You must apply as a group / consortium / partnership with one lead applicant. Your application is more likely to be successful if it includes partners from more than one sector.
  • Within West Birmingham (Ladywood and Perry Barr constituencies), Flourish has been appointed as the VCFSE Partnership Lead and will facilitate applications to the Locality Partnership Fund (only).
